We know it can be a little daunting to receive a request in a different language. Luckily, there are some amazing tools available online to help.
We recommend Google Translate. You will notice that the default is set to ‘Detect Language’; leave this as it is. Then, copy + paste the text from the reading request into the Google Translate text box. The text will automatically translate into whichever language the right - hand side box is set to.
Note: the translations aren’t always totally perfect, but they do a pretty good job!
Feel free to write up and submit the reading in your own language, including short, simple instructions on where to find Google Translate. Alternatively, you can use Google Translate to translate your actual reading - but bear in mind, if the grammar and context is a little skewed, this might reflect in the feedback your client leaves you. You’ll want to be sure your spelling is correct, as Google Translate cannot translate errors.
If you don’t wish to use Google Translate, that is completely okay, just provide the reading in English and let your client know that you are not able to provide the reading in their language.
