First and foremost, we completely honor and respect the time you devote to your practice and the beautiful energy you commit to your readings.
That being said, it’s a good habit to assume positive intent when a querent doesn’t respond immediately to your message. With the ever-changing need for further online security, we have found that many clients’ email providers have elevated screening on their email, which has resulted in them not receiving a notification of your message. We do our best to inform clients of the reading process, however, sometimes they assume they have to wait 7 days until they can check their account for their completed reading.
More often than not, clients have never had experienced any of the empowering co-creation goodness we embody. With that in mind, they may just expect to have little or no interaction, before receiving their reading.
If you feel comfortable and the client has provided enough information about their request, we encourage you to move forward with the reading anyway. Taking the opportunity to practice a reading, where your intuition and creativity can solely be your guide, can be a fun way of discovering new ways to elevate your reading style.
Should you need to rephrase a client's question, many are happy with this being done when you clearly communicate how it is in their best interest to do so and do so from a place of compassion and empathy.
So if you already know of a better question to ask, feel free to provide a reading based on that.
Or... If you haven’t selected one yet, begin by considering what kinds of empowering questions can be asked that will help you get to the heart of the question and result in a truly empowering reading for your client.
If the client hasn’t shared enough information for you to get to the heart of the matter, feel free to go forward with a general reading of your choosing. If you don’t know where to start, here’s a list of 25 easy three-card spreads from Brigit to give you some ideas.
Or if you want to get creative, feel free to create your own three-card spread and go with the flow. This is your chance to try something new and give your intuition another avenue to guide you down! ✨
When submitting the reading you can let them know that you didn’t want to leave them hanging, but since you did not hear back from them you decided to move forward with a reading that you felt was supportive based on the information you had available. Chances are they will be super thankful and realize they get the opportunity to create their readings alongside their readers going forward!
This is of course just a suggestion! When all is said and done, if you are 100% unable to answer the client’s request or you don’t feel comfortable with this approach, that is completely okay! We will never force or expect you to move forward with a reading that is not in alignment with your ethics, boundaries or reading style.
Instead, please write to the client and let them know that you are not able to complete the reading due to not being able to connect with them. From there, leave the request in your ‘in progress’ folder and ignore any notices you receive about the reading being overdue. These will not count against you, and the reading will be automatically canceled in 14 days.
At the moment, readings are only reassigned if a reader falls ill, has other personal circumstances that prevent them from completing a reading or if they decide to leave the Biddy Tarot Community. And if a client is unresponsive, the reading is cancelled.
