As a Practice Tarot Readings reader, you may encounter situations where a client asks for follow-up questions, additional readings, or reassignment to another reader. These scenarios can be tricky, but they’re also excellent opportunities to practice setting boundaries, refining communication, and growing as a reader.
Here’s how to navigate these scenarios with confidence and integrity.
When Clients Ask for Reassignments
Sometimes, clients might request to switch to another reader if they feel their needs haven’t been met. While this might seem like a reasonable solution, we discourage reassigning readings.
Here’s why:
- Consistency Matters: The same challenges are likely to arise with the next reader. Working through these challenges is part of the learning process for both the client and the reader.
- Opportunity for Growth: Use this as a chance to practice communicating your boundaries and guiding the client toward a meaningful reading.
If the request doesn’t align with your ethics, reading style, or expertise, try collaborating with the client to reframe their question or explore a different topic. For example:
-
If the question involves a third party (e.g., “Does my ex still love me?”):
- Suggest refocusing on the client’s personal growth with questions like:
- “What can I do to heal and move forward from this relationship?”
- “How can I open my heart to love again?”
- Suggest refocusing on the client’s personal growth with questions like:
-
If the question is sensitive or outside Tarot’s scope (e.g., health or legal matters):
- Gently remind the client that Tarot isn’t a substitute for professional advice and propose alternatives, such as:
- “How can I nurture my health and well-being during this time?”
- “What steps can I take to feel more supported?”
- Gently remind the client that Tarot isn’t a substitute for professional advice and propose alternatives, such as:

If you cannot proceed with the reading:
- Kindly explain to the client why the reading cannot continue as requested.
- Leave the request in your "In Progress" folder—it will automatically cancel in 14 days, and the client can submit a new request in 15 days.
When Clients Ask Follow-Up Questions After a Reading is Complete
It’s common for clients to have additional questions after receiving their reading, but it’s important to maintain clear boundaries and uphold the guidelines of the Practice Reading platform. Here’s how to handle follow-up questions:
-
Clarify Expectations: Gently remind the client that each reading is limited to one focused question. Follow-up inquiries or requests for additional cards are considered new readings and require submitting another request.
-
Provide Guidance: If the client’s follow-up is about understanding the cards already drawn or clarifying the message, feel free to provide a short explanation or elaborate slightly on the existing reading. However, avoid pulling additional cards or expanding into a new question.
-
Encourage Reflection: Let the client know that Tarot readings often take time to resonate. Suggest they reflect on the messages they’ve received before seeking further guidance.
-
Reiterate the 15-Day Rule: Kindly explain that they can submit a new reading request in 15 days. If they have further questions or want to explore a new topic, this will be the next opportunity to connect with a reader.
Addressing Repeat or Multiple Accounts
If you suspect a client is abusing the system by creating multiple accounts or submitting repeat requests:
- Report the Issue: Submit a support ticket with details, including any evidence you’ve noticed about the client’s activity.
- Leave the Reading: Avoid engaging further and let our team investigate and address the situation.
