We’re so glad you’re engaging with the Community and Practice Tarot Readings! Sharing resources like PDFs, images, and videos is a fantastic way to connect with others and grow your Tarot skills. But what happens if you want to remove a file from the Media Library?
Unfortunately, files uploaded directly to the Media Library can’t be deleted at this time. But don’t worry! We’ve got an easy workaround to ensure you have full control over your files going forward. Let’s dive in!
Step-by-Step Instructions: Use a Shared Drive for More Control
Instead of uploading your media files directly to the Media Library, you can upload them to a shared drive (like Google Drive, Dropbox, or OneDrive) and share the link in the Community. This way, you can edit, update, or remove your files whenever you want. Here’s how:
-
Choose a Cloud Storage Platform
Use a platform like Google Drive, Dropbox, or OneDrive. These services are free to use (up to a certain storage limit) and easy to set up. -
Upload Your Media Files
Save your file (such as a PDF, image, or video) to your cloud storage. Most platforms offer a simple "Upload" button where you can select files from your device. -
Create a Shareable Link
- In Google Drive: Right-click on your file and select "Get Link." Adjust the settings so anyone with the link can view it.
- In Dropbox: Click the "Share" button next to your file, and then copy the shareable link.
- In OneDrive: Select your file, click "Share," and generate a link for public access.
-
Share the Link in the Community
Copy and paste the link into your post or comment in the Community. Members can view the file directly without needing to download anything. -
Update or Remove Files Anytime
Since the file lives on your shared drive, you can delete, replace, or edit it whenever you like, ensuring you’re always sharing exactly what you want.
Tips and FAQs
-
What if I’ve already uploaded a file to the Media Library?
Unfortunately, you can’t delete files that have been uploaded. However, you can share an updated version through a shared link and let Community members know it’s the most recent version. -
Which cloud storage is best?
Google Drive is often the easiest option for most people since it’s free, user-friendly, and widely accessible. But Dropbox and OneDrive are also excellent choices, depending on your preferences. -
Can others edit my files through the shared link?
Not unless you set the sharing permissions to allow editing. Be sure to select "View Only" or equivalent settings to keep your files secure.
